NAKVIS hosts a consortium of universities from Kosovo and Albania; an Erasmus+ project

PUBLISHED ON: 21. June 2024

The Agency hosted a consortium of universities from Kosovo and Albania during a study visit from June 20 to 21, 2024. The visit took place within the framework of the Erasmus+ CBHE project QA SURE, where representatives of the universities visited NAKVIS and the International School for Business and Social Studies (MFDPŠ) in Celje, a partner in the project. The main purpose of the visit was to learn about quality systems in higher education at both the national and institutional levels.

The guests were introduced to the Slovenian external quality assessment system, including accreditation and evaluation procedures, thematic analyses, informatization of quality procedures, and the international activities of the Agency. The Agency’s Director, Dr. Franci Demšar, also presented his new book, Transparency in Science and the Effects on Public Policy, which explains the key role that transparency has played in shaping and developing science over the last centuries, and the consequent strengthening of quality in higher education.

Such visits are valuable for all institutions involved, as they allow the exchange of information and examples of good practice, contribute to improving quality systems at various levels, and help establish quality systems in countries that are less developed in this area. International cooperation at this level is extremely important for understanding the concept of quality culture in higher education, nationally and internationally.
