SMEQA project: Study visit in Ljubljana
From 5 to 7 November 2024, the SMEQA partners gathered in Ljubljana for a study visit, organised in cooperation between the University of Ljubljana and SQAA / NAKVIS. The event focused on strengthening quality assurance systems with a focus on compliance with European Quality Standards (ESG).
During the three-day event, participants learned about the internal and external quality assurance processes at the University of Ljubljana and the experience with the re-accreditation at the University of Maribor. Discussions also included examples of good practice from the INOVUP and EUROGRADUATE projects. The focus of the second day of the visit was on the external quality assurance system in Slovenia, the role of SQAA / NAKVIS and the legislative procedures under ESG 2. The University of Mostar presented a draft analysis of the quality assurance system in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which stimulated discussions on the next steps. The last day was dedicated to a consortium meeting where partners discussed the dissemination strategy of the project, financial reporting and the action plan for the next 12 months.
The visit underlined the importance of cooperation and knowledge sharing in building strong quality assurance mechanisms, which will contribute to sustainable improvements in higher education in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
