Agency Council
AGENCY COUNCIL IS THE HIGHEST DECISION-MAKING BODY OF THE AGENCY. THE MEMBERS OF THE COUNCIL SHALL ACT PROFESSIONALLY, AUTONOMOUSLY AND INDEPENDENTLY. IN DECISION-MAKING, THE MEMBERS OF THE AGENCY COUNCIL SHALL FOLLOW THE PRINCIPLES OF PREVENTING THE CONFLICTS OF INTERESTS AND IMPARTIALITY.
In carrying out their tasks and decision-making, the members of the Agency Council shall follow the principles of preventing the conflicts of interests and impartiality. To this end, they shall sign a special statement binding them to respect these principles.
Agency Council has the following tasks:
• to appoint and dismiss the Director of the Agency
• to appoint and dismiss the members of the Appeals Committee and their deputies
• to determine the procedures referred to in point 2 of Article 68 of ZViS-1 and the criteria referred to in point 3 of Article 68 of ZViS-1
• to determine the minimum standards for appointment to academic titles of higher education teachers, researchers and higher education collaborators at higher education institutions as referred to in point 4 of Article 68 of ZViS-1
• to decide on the accreditations of higher education institutions and on changes thereto
• to decide on the accreditations of study programmes and on the evaluation of a sample of study programmes
• to appoint groups of experts for external evaluations and accreditations as referred to in point 9 of Article 68 of ZViS-1
• to determine the procedures and criteria for ensuring the quality of its own operations and for the external evaluation of its operations in accordance with the ESG
• to determine the price list for carrying out accreditations and evaluations abroad in accordance with the third paragraph of Article 72 of ZViS-1
• to determine the mandatory components of the contract referred to in the second and fifth paragraphs of Article 47 of ZViS-1
• to determine other forms and conditions of transnational higher education
• to monitor the ESG and international principles in the field of quality assurance in higher education
• to participate in the preparation of the draft financial plan of the Agency and to give consent to the work programme and the annual report on work and operations
• to perform other tasks in accordance with this Act and the founding act.
The constitutive session of the Agency Council was held on 14 April 2010.

The President of the Agency Council shall be responsible for openness of the work of the Agency Council.
