NAKVIS Director Elected Chair of NQAAE’s International Governing Board
Dr Franci Demšar, Director of the Slovenian Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (NAKVIS), has been elected Chair of the International Governing Board of the National Quality Assurance Agency for Education (NQAAE) under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, having received a clear majority of the votes cast. He was appointed to the Board in July 2026.
The International Governing Board is NQAAE’s highest international strategic advisory body, bringing together internationally distinguished experts and senior leaders in quality assurance, accreditation, higher education, educational policy and institutional governance. It provides the Agency with independent strategic guidance and international expertise in support of a transparent, credible and internationally recognised education quality assurance system, advising, among other areas, on quality assurance policies and procedures, accreditation, external evaluation and institutional development, while promoting internationally recognised standards and best practices.
As Chair, Dr Demšar will guide the work of the Board and contribute to the further advancement of international cooperation and quality assurance in education. His election represents significant international recognition of his professional expertise and further strengthens NAKVIS’s visibility and engagement in the international higher education quality assurance community.
