QUALITY ASSURANCE CONFERENCE: Career Paths of Graduates
On Thursday, November 7, 2024, the online conference NAKVIS Career Paths of Graduates brought together numerous experts and participants from Slovenia and Europe. The discussions highlighted key challenges in graduate employability and the role of higher education institutions in ensuring quality.
After the opening speech by Director Dr. Franci Demšar, Dr. Golo Henseke (UCL) presented on the issue of rising inequality in the labor market for graduates, emphasizing the phenomenon of overemployment and the need to address socioeconomic barriers. Andrej Krček (NAKVIS) analyzed data on the unemployment rates of Slovenian graduates, noting regional and sectoral differences. David Metz (AKKR) shared the Danish experience of using employment data in quality assurance processes, while Dr. Tomaž Deželan presented the Eurograduate project and the use of data in the internal quality assurance processes of higher education institutions. Dr. Tjaša Bartolj (IER) highlighted the importance of accurate data to guide students in choosing their fields of study.
The conference provided valuable insights and opportunities to improve practices in higher education. All panelists will contribute articles or participate in interviews, which will be included in a special publication that we look forward to sharing with the public upon release.
We thank all participants for their active involvement and look forward to future meetings.
