SMEQA Project: External Quality Assurance Support Workshop
On June 5th the Director of the agency Dr. Franci Demšar attended a workshop on external quality assurance support, titled “Strengthening capacities of the quality assurance in higher education system”, organized as part of the SMEQA project (Strengthening Capacities and Mechanisms for Improving the System of Quality Assurance in Higher Education in Bosnia and Herzegovina), which took place in Neum, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The workshop opened with a roundtable and panel discussion on “The Effects of the Application of Existing Quality Assurance Models in Higher Education in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Their Future Perspectives.”
In the afternoon, another workshop titled “Preparation and Organization of the Expert Panel in the Accreditation Process” was held by a HEA (Agency for Development of Higher Education and Quality Assurance of Bosnia and Herzegovina) representative. This session focused on the responsibilities, structure, and role of the Expert Panel from the perspective of the ESG (Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area) and the legal framework in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The event concluded with a brainstorming workshop addressing key challenges in the preparation and organization of the Expert Panel in the accreditation and external evaluation processes.
The workshop made a meaningful contribution to ongoing efforts to strengthen quality assurance mechanisms in higher education in the region.
