SQAA Director’s Visit to IQAA in Kazakhstan

The Director of the Agency, Dr. Franci Demšar, visited the Independent Agency for Quality Assurance in Education in Kazakhstan (IQAA) from February 19 to 21, 2025. During the visit, he participated in his first meeting as a new member of the Supervisory Board, where he presented the achievements and future challenges of the work of SQAA through a series of lectures.

The responsibilities of the Supervisory Board of IQAA include approving development strategies, determining priorities, and setting long-term plans for the Kazakhstani agency. The event represents yet another step in strengthening international ties and exchanging good practices in the field of quality assurance in higher education.

IQAA was established in 2008 and holds the status of the first Kazakhstani non-governmental organization in the field of quality assurance for educational institutions and educational programs. It focuses on cooperation and engagement with all stakeholders, including students, academic staff, government bodies, and the broader society. In 2012, it became a full member of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education, and in 2017, it was registered in the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education.
